On 27/11/2018, at the Polin Conference Center in Warsaw, the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) in Alicante organized a ceremony of selecting the winners of the EuropaDesign Awards 2018. This competition highlights the best designers and managers of industrial design in Europe.
Two companies won - in the Small and newly created enterprises category, the prize was awarded to the Danish company Marcus Pedersen ApS for the AirGo 2.0 baggage dispatch system, designed by Sarah Clement.
In the Industry category, the award for the robotized angiography system with the C-arm ARTIS pheno, designed by Nadja Roth and Tobias Reese, was awarded to Siemens Healthcare GmbH.
Among the finalists were two Polish companies that created the intelligent video intercom company FIBARO and a system for independent breast control in the home of the company Braster.
EUIPO also honored and rewarded Hartmut Esslinger for lifetime achievements. He is a German designer of world renown, who is now one of the most influential designers. For many years he cooperated with Steve Jobs and Apple, which resulted in the creation of the language of the branding for the Apple brand under the name "Snow White" in the 80's. Hartmut Esslinger also designed for other companies, such as Sony, Microsoft, Lufthansa and Disney.
The ceremony was attended by the KJP Partner - Patron Paweł Kurcman.
