Conference "The role of patent attorney in a knowledge-based economy" on 12/10/2018.

Our partner, Paweł Kurcman, led one of the three conference panels concerning the role of patent attorney in a knowledge-based economy. As part of the panel titled "New solutions - new challenges - patent attorney as a attorney before national, EU and international administration bodies and courts" Mr. Paweł Paweł Kurcman had the pleasure of moderating and participating in a discussion on how the patent attorney has been seen so far as a professional attorney and what actions should be taken in the future to increase this professionalism. There were a few interesting speaches on the background of a patent attorney's co-operation - a court, however, the signal coming especially from the judges taking part in this panel is that the level of substantive preparation of patent attorneys in matters of intelectual and industrial property is at a very high level. The participants of the panel were: Mrs. Beata Piwowarska - judge, Chairwoman of the Court of European Trade Marks and Community Designs, Mrs. Henryka Lewandowska-Kuraszkiewicz - judge, Deputy Chairman of the Judicial Department of the VI Voivodship Administrative Court in Warsaw, Mr. Andrzej Pyrża - Deputy President of the Polish Patent Office , Ms. Beata Suwała - Representative of EUIPO (patent attorney), Mr. dr hab. Marcin Trzebiatowski (patent attorney), Mr. Jarosław Markieta (patent attorney), Mr. Robert Mroczek (patent attorney, employee of KAS).
