Some technical solutions concerning objects (devices), although new, are not innovative enough to meet the inventory level criterion to be deemed an invention. In such case, they can be subject to protection as utility models which must meet two criteria: novelty and utility.
Protection rights for a utility model, similarly to a patent for an invention, grants the beneficiary exclusive right to use the protected solution in the specified territory.
